2021 – 2022 Roadmap and New Pricing Plans

Since launching Studio Ninja over 5 years ago we’ve worked tirelessly to evolve the software into what it is today. With constant, regular updates, Studio Ninja is now far more powerful and feature-rich than when we first started, while remaining easy-to-use for newcomers and seasoned professionals alike.

From day one, we have built Studio Ninja using our own savings with no external investment, so we can stay true to our goals of dedicating this software to the photography community.

Along the way, you have supported us, provided invaluable feedback, offered advice, beta tested new features, come to our events, and even had beers with us! We’ve loved having you all in our growing family and as we write a new page everyday, we look forward to continuing this journey with you into the future.

We have no plans to slow down! To innovate constantly, stay competitive in a rapidly changing market and continue to have the most talented designers and engineers developing Studio Ninja to be the best business software for photographers and videographers around the world, we will be increasing our prices (slightly!) for all subscribers.

New pricing from 1 July 2021

From 1st July 2021, we will be increasing your subscription by $1.95 Australian dollars per month.

Upgrade from Monthly to Annual before 1 July (e.g. on 30 June) and you will lock in the current price for the full year until 30 June 2022.

GBP or USD Plans

To eliminate subscription fluctuations due to currency exchange rates, we are introducing “Pay in your own currency” plans for those of you in the UK and US. It’s completely up to you whether you want to switch to these GBP or USD plans.

If you do nothing, we will continue charging you in Australian dollars, just like we do now.

Increased Refer a Friend Discount

Currently, if you refer a friend to Studio Ninja we will give you and your friend AUD$5 off your subscriptions every month. If you refer two friends, you will get AUD$10 off your subscription and your friends will each get AUD$5 off theirs. Not bad, but we can do better!

From 1st of July we will be increasing everyone’s refer a friend discount to a whopping 20% off! So, all your existing referrals will be automatically upgraded to 20% off instead of just AUD$5 and moving forward if you refer a friend you will both get 20% off your subscriptions, plus an additional 20% off for every additional person you refer!

I have supported you since the very beginning. Why isn’t my plan price grandfathered?

With constant, regular updates and feature releases, Studio Ninja is a far more developed product compared to the one we launched in 2016. The new pricing is still very competitive in the industry, affordable for solopreneurs and reflects the business value that Studio Ninja brings to photographers around the world.

We are incredibly grateful to those 100 “Champion” Ninjas who crowd-funded our first version and subscribed in 2015 when there was no product. These Champion users are the only ones with a lifetime discount.

I’m on a discounted monthly plan (e.g. 30% off for the first 12 months). What happens to my discount when I upgrade to annual?

Your discount will be carried forward. We calculate how many days were used from your discount period, and all remaining unused time will be applied to your new plan.

How does Studio Ninja compare to other software with the new price?

Prices below show comparable monthly plans in US dollars from the most to least affordable. These are regular prices and exclude discounts or promotions.
