OUR STORY

More time, more freedom.

We’ve changed the lives of over 30,000 photographers and videographers by freeing up all the boring hours spent on administrative tasks. Now, they have more time for more of what they love.

MADE IN MELBOURNE

Meet the Aussie founders.

Chris Garbacz and Yuan Wang.

After 10 years of juggling an average of 60 jobs per year, Melbourne-based wedding photographer, Chris Garbacz was burnt out. Frustrated by the amount of time he was spending on administrative tasks, and the time he was spending trialing existing software with no avail – he knew he had to do something: Create user-friendly software for photographers that was well-designed, easy to use and would save them time.

With this big idea in mind, Chris approached UX designer, Yuan Wang. Combining Chris’ innate understanding of the photography industry with Yuan’s vast experience in user-centred design methodologies, the two set out with the mission to develop a software that would help photographers streamline their businesses and eliminate paperwork, so they have more time to do what they love most.

OUR VALUES

What makes a successful Ninja.

At Studio Ninja, we believe in always aspiring to be the best version of ourselves. Whether that means
pushing boundaries to create exceptional work or getting involved to become highly valued members
of our community, this is what we strive for.

LOVE WHAT WE DO

Going after what you want and choosing the creative path isn’t always easy. It takes passion and drive. Anyone who does it will tell you they love it – and that’s part of why we do what we do.

INSPIRE AND BE INSPIRED

Part of loving what you do means always moving forward and inspiring others to do the same. When a job is done or a goal is achieved, it’s about striving for the next one.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF

This is your life and your output. Be brave, explore the unknown, view problems as challenges you can overcome and continually innovate, iterate and create.

TELL YOUR STORY

You began this journey to tell your story. Whether you consider yourself a creative, a photographer, an artist or something else, your work has a voice. Get out there, tell your story and make your mark.

OUR PROCESS

From ideas to features.

So how do we do what we do, and do it well? We brainstorm, we analyse, we prioritise, we plan, test,
iterate, and then sometimes, we do it all again. But no matter where we land, everything is created
with the user in the center.

1. IDEAS POOL

We add your suggestions to our ideas and observed industry trends into one giant pool of ideas.

2. WISHLIST

We find patterns, group similar ideas and sort the best ones into a wishlist of potential features.

3. PRIORITISATION

We weigh up every feature’s potential reach, impact to users and required effort before deciding it’s priority.

4. ROADMAP

We look ahead for the next 12 months and place high priority features into our product roadmap.

5. DESIGN

We go through many rounds of design iteration while balancing powerful functionality with ease of use.

6. USER TESTING

It’s time for customer feedback! We invite current Studio Ninja users to test our prototypes and help make them better.

7. REFINEMENT

Technical scope are refined further to make sure every aspect of the new feature has been worked out.

8. ENGINEERING

Where the coding magic happens! Our engineers turn user-tested designs into reality, adding features to the system.

9. BETA TESTING

More testing! We release new features to a batch of top users and fix any teething issues.

10. RELEASE

We make the feature live for all users, high-five each other and start over. Rinse and repeat!

Less stress, more
